Concert pianist Jade Simmons once stood on the runway as Miss Illinois and the first runner-up to Miss America, and she’s been a spokeswoman for the U.S. Labor Department's Youth Opportunity Movement. But these days she’s busy presenting unconventional programming, as on Revolutionary Rhythm her new CD featuring sonatas by Barber and Corigliano, as well as the Hip-Hop Etudes of Daniel Bernard Roumain. Simmons performs live in our studio.
