West Side Story, Revisited and Revised

Thursday, March 19, 2009

As "West Side Story" returns to Broadway for the first time in nearly three decades, producers are trying a more authentic tact. This is a strong production of the great musical updated with emphasis on the hate, resentment and differences between the gangs: the tough and street Jets and the Spanish and colorful Sharks. Their hate and anger lead to tragedy in this effective production.
