Enterprising musicians and labels are trying to sell music by giving fans something to collect: Buy an album and get an 8-track tape, a cassette, a T-shirt, even a soup can. These days it takes a little more effort to sell an entire album of music. Artists are offering incentives like outdated music formats (8-track tapes, cassettes), T-shirts, flash memory drives, and even collectors’ soup cans.
