How did Schuman become such a power broker in NYC cultural life? Aren't composers supposed to be stuck in the ivory tower?
I remember performing "George Washington Bridge" when I was in high school in Kansas--I think of that piece every time I see or cross the bridge over 10 years later.
I am more familiar with Schuman's music. I remember performing his "George Washington Bridge" when I was an undergrad at Hartt.
