Christopher Janney and the Persuasions

Friday, February 20, 2009

The Persuasions are one of America’s most enduring and popular a cappella groups. Christopher Janney is a well-known sonic architect; you may have walked through his longstanding sound installation at the Times Square subway station. Now they’re working together, on a work built around the human heartbeat. They join us to play live.

Wonderful! A true mash-up of tradition and innovation.
The Persuasions bring such history of musical gesture to an iconic dance work "HeartBeat!" Terrific!
As reported on radio: you can see the dance piece with The Persuasions this Sunday March 1 at Concord Academy at 4 PM. Call 978 402 2339 for tickets. Tickets are a special $25 for WNYC listeners!
