Mariza is one of the pioneers in a new wave of young Portuguese singers who made the traditional and mournful fado hip again. She joins us to talk about her new album, which includes Charlie Chaplin’s Smile, fado-style.
I love the FADO so much. But when I started listning to you it really hit me. I just came to see you in NAPA valley opera house. You made me cry and smile. Obrigato Mariza. I feel how much you miss your Lisboa, but thankyou for taking the time to share your gift with us. Thanks to all of your band mates and crew. It was a very beautiful perfomance. Obergato for O Gente da minha terra, it means alot to us to be part of your now world of Terra. With much love, Ronni

Interesting that "Smile" would be featured on your show twice in one week. I just received my copy of Anne Akiko Meyers's "Smile" CD (thanks to your show). I am an amateur pianist, so now I have got to give it a whirl on the piano.
