Wendy and Lisa

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Wendy and Lisa are a musical duo that met playing with Prince and the Revolution in the 80s. They then worked on albums together and scored TV shows like the NBC series Heroes. Wendy and Lisa are seriously talented musicians who deserve complete respect. I'm surprised these women aren't in the Rock and Hall of Fame. Their time is NOW!!!

Great interview. Their new album, White Flags of Winter Chimneys, is beautiful. A truly beautiful album on par with XTC's Skylarking or Joni Mitchell's Blue. You can stream it from their website.

The Fall of the City is a groundbreaking piece of work and Wendy & Lisa's score, even by the small glimpses we got from the interview, is perfect, gorgeous and does great justice to the radio play.
And, speaking of groundbreaking pieces of work, I'm now having wild dreams of Wendy & Lisa scoring Neil Gaiman's "Sandman"...
