Christopher O'Riley

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Pianist Christopher O'Riley isn't waiting for the rock generation to "age" into classical music. His classical piano versions of songs by Radiohead and other rockers are luring younger fans to the concert hall. O’Riley joins us to play Debussy and Nick Drake, live in our studio.

Likewise, what is the significance of pairing Robert Schumann and Elliott Smith together for Mr. O'Riley's upcoming concert? Patterns and arrangements?

artist compensation is not a priority for record companies. The MP3 should be free because it is a form of advertisement. If artists want to make money they will use this free distribution method and make money selling hard copies and performance tickets.

MPEG compressed digital files are inferior to their analog counterparts. MP3's should be free or pay as you wish. Hard copies should be expensive.
