South African trumpeter and singer Hugh Masekela started playing in the '60s, toured with Paul Simon during the "Graceland" era, and scored a hit with "Bring Him Back Home" (an anthem for Nelson Mandela after the leader's release from prison in 1992). Masekela joins us in light of his 70th birthday and his new CD, Phola, the 35th of his career.

say hello to Hugh for me. HE DOESN'T KNOW ME, BUT I was in Gold Star Studio in LA when he was recording "Emancipation". I'll never forget he was playing in the studio with all the lights turned out. His concentration was magnetic. I'll never forget it.
