Writer, actor and satirist Harry Shearer is best known for his roles in the film This is Spinal Tap and for voicing characters on The Simpsons. His long-running radio program, Le Show, is heard in 90 markets across the country. Before a live performance tomorrow at the 92YTribeca, Shearer joins us to talk about roasting the Bush administration on his latest CD, "Songs of the Bushmen."

Stop using the term "architect" when you mean "mastermind". I'm an architect, I design buildings and spaces, I had to obtain 5 years of college education + 3 years of work experience, and pass 9 exams to call myself an architect. I don't like the term being disparaged by using it to describe nearly-criminal "masterminds".
I wanted a war crimes trial, and all I got was this lousy CD?
Well, OK, parts are amusing....but if all we can do is make satire, without ever bringing these arrogant, morally bankrupt lawbreakers to account for trashing our country and the Constitution, our priorities are our of place.
Of course, sometimes we have to laugh to keep from screaming.
I love Harry Shearer and all his work on the Simpsons, Spinal Tap and the many great films he's been a part of. However, this new album of his sounds a bit like the momeny in "This is Spinal Tap" when the band starts falling apart and can't put together one song cohesively. I believe the marquis at that venue read "Puppet Show and Spinal Tap". This is more of a "Puppet Show"...

I love Harry Shearer's work and have great respect for him but . . . "things we don't know we don't know" is a very valid intellectual concept and don't think it should be poked fun at. On the surface, it sounds funny but, when you really think about it, it's quite legitimate.
"We're very lucky in the band in that we have two visionaries - David and Nigel. They're like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They're two distinct types of visionaries; it's like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water."
