Martha Wainwright was famously reluctant to follow her brother Rufus, mother Kate McGarrigle and father Loudon Wainwright III into a musical career. But it’s a good thing she didn’t act on that reticence as demonstrated by "I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too," her new album of lush folk-pop songs. She joins us with a live performance in the studio.

I first saw Rufus opening for his old man years ago. Wainwright purists were up in arms because they felt he was a disgrace to the family name. I thought he was great. I preferred him to the old man and mom -- who I've always enjoyed.
Then came Martha. I think she gives Rufus a run for his money. A family of truly unique voices and perspectives. Rock on Wainwrights!
Just checked your website -- God you're hot, Martha. You sound like a cross between Alanis Morissette, Beth Orton, and Carly Simon. Great song and voice -- unfortunately, NYC is losing all these cafes and smaller venues where one can catch you live.
crap. how long is she going to get by on that last name?
