Brendan James Live

Friday, July 25, 2008

Just a few years ago, singer-songwriter Brendan James was a struggling artist without a record deal or even a piano. But while working nights as a clerk at Urban Outfitters, he began sneaking into hotels like The Plaza, where he'd begin playing the piano - sometimes for 3 or 4 hours at a time. Now, James has a major-label record deal and friends in high places. He joins us to tell the rest of his story - and perform live.

Guests:

Brendan James

I had the pleaseure of hearing Brendan James live on July 18th here in Denver.

He is an amazing artist. I just hope he becomes as big as James Taylor some day!

Brendan was just in Austin a few weeks ago, and I was amazed by the originality of his lyrics. He gave me hope for the future music and singer/songwriters. Thank you for this.

Ugh. What a silly cliche. Astonishing self-consciousness.

Brendan is the first artist in a long time who's album I can listen to from cover to cover. Aside from being musically brilliant, he sings about things that are relevant to not just our generation but everyone else. The world needs a Brendan James right now!
thanks for having him on your show.

Can Brendan speak up or get closer to the mic when he speaks? I love his music and want to hear his story.

I discovered Brendan James through facebook not too long ago and immediately fell in love with his music. He's definitely my new favorite singer-songwriter, I love the emotion in his music.
