Singer-songwriter Colin McGrath combines textured instrumentation with lyrics that are contemplative and quirky. His new album, "Window Seat," is steeped in storytelling and images of Americana. Sounds of classical, folk and pop music paint touching scenes of everyday life. He performs live in our studio.

In response to the above comment concerning the piece on torture: I do agree with the listener about the importance of discussions of torture. This topic should be front and center in the national dialogue, and should have prevented the current Attorney General from obtaining his position as such. However, on a program about music, offerings of joy and love have at least as important a part as instruments of aggression, and Colin McGrath's gentle ballads and articulate portraits are an answer, in their own way, to the malicious and the bellicose. I am happy and grateful to have heard him on the show today.
