When the king of Siam was on an official visit to France around teh turn of last century, he was taken to the Paris OPera for a concert. When asked what he liked best at the end of the performance, he said that very first piece was his favorite; littl edid he know that he was referring to the orchestra members tuning up their instrument. From hereon, that part of a concert, the instrument tuning, is referred to as "la musique du Roi de Siam". Mary Halvorson's music fits in that category.

I'm not into the 'out of tune' guitar sound. This kind of music is not for me. Sorry.

love your music so far, I DO think there are women instrumentalists aout there, they just aren't getting the attention their male counterparts do.

Mary,
Your music doesn't sound like jazz. Charlie Christian didn't use a whammy pedal. Where's the solo section? Where's the 2-5-1's?

Can you or your guest comment further on WHY Kanye West tried to sing on SNL Last week? I was shocked and it sounded terrible to me. What do you think it's all about?

Thanks.
