Singer and guitarist Larkin Grimm’s bio reads like a southern Gothic short story. Born to members of a religious sect, Grimm grew up in Appalachian mountains, learned music from a fiddler father and folksinger mother, and won a scholarship to study art at Yale. Now based in New York, Grimm’s music is decidedly darker and more sensual than her counterparts in the indie-folk scene. She joins us to perform songs from her latest record, “Parplar,” live in our studio.
