Brazilian singer-songwriter Caetano Veloso was one of the creators of the Brazilian musical movement Tropicalismo in the '60s. A decade later came Samba Soul, mixing samba with R&B and soul with baião. Caetano's son Moreno Veloso is part of a new generation of musicians re-inventing that sound. He plays live in the studio with his samba super-group, Kassin +2.
Kassin +2 plays the Brooklyn Academy of Music tonight as part of the Red Hot & Rio tribute to bossa nova. Doors open at 8 p.m.
