Leo Kottke overcame a series of personal obstacles including partial deafness and a nearly career-ending bout with tendon damage to become a virtuoso of the acoustic guitar. He shares with us his idiosyncratic fingerpicking style, which draws on blues, jazz, and folk music influences.

Ever since I heard Kottke's 'Watermelon' on some NPR[?] station when I lived in NYC back in the late '60s, I was hooked. Kottke [& Dick Rosmini] were my acoustic guitar inspirations which is my therapy at the end of the day. Fortunately, decent transcriptions of Kottke's music has been published; unfortunately, not enough. And equally as sad, Dick Rosmini [an influence on Kottke, I once read] hasn't seemed to achieve the notoriety that [IMHO] he so rightly deserved.
