Made in New Orleans

Monday, November 26, 2007

Ben Jaffe, the son of Preservation Hall founders Allan and Sandra Jaffe, talks about assembling archival recordings and New Orleans artifacts that his parents had collected over the years. The result, a CD-DVD double-disc set called "Made In New Orleans: The Hurricane Sessions," features recordings rescued from floodwaters in Allen Toussaint's Sea-Saint studios.

My Husband wrote a story on Preservation Hall for Rolling Stone in the late 70's. Later, when we lived in New Orleans, we got to know Allan and Sandra. Ben was just a kid. We're thankful that he is keeping the preservation of New Orleans music going. Thanks.
