Pop Music: Best of 2007

Jay-Z rode the coattails of an "American Gangster." Sanjaya overstayed his welcome on "American Idol." And the industry's high anxiety over the future of music got, well, higher. WHAT IS IT WITH WHITE LIBERAL DUDES LOVING LIL WAYNE. I mean, that's all I'm noticing all over. JEEZ. Why can't the trend be good music. I would have replaced that with Manu Chao's new album - at least he stands for something AND can put on a real live show.

Regarding the pop critics comments (today Dec. 17th) about all the innovation going on in the music: that LCD Soundsystem song you played, and she seemed to like so much, is a direct rip-off of a song by Pete Shelley called 'Homosapien', from the 1980's. Honestly, these people think there aren't still those of us around who can remember the original (and better) song they are stealing from? Innovation-right. What a waste of air time.

Lame Top 10.
Do music critics only listen to what other music critics tell them to?
And the cycle continues.
