I was listening to new tracks from Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings upcoming record, 100 Days, 100 Nights...also old school Mulatu, while stuck waiting for the G Train. The funky cuts helped!

I am not sure why, but cranking some traditional Irish music made me relax on my trip from Dyckman and Broadway to 20th st. this morning. I walked 70 of those blocks and listening to uillean pipes turned it from aggravating to relaxing.

I left my home at 7am, all trains were out in Brooklyn, I thought I could go cross town to the Q or the R from the F train by bus on Church Ave, I took the 67 bus from Kensington to Jay St Boro Hall, I got on an F train, there were hundreds of folks waiting for the 61 bus to City Hall. When I finally arrived at 14th st and 6th Ave, late for work but on time for a dentist's appointment I got a cup of iced coffee at Dunkin' Doughnuts. They were playing "Purple Rain" and somehow that made lifted my spirits. My dentist appointment was canceled after all, I was the only patient who showed up. I walked the rest of the way to work since the 6 train was down at Union Square.
