The National Association for Music Education recently conducted a poll that found that nearly two-thirds of American adults do not know all the words to the national anthem. Today: find out why the anthem is so hard to sing, and what one group of music teachers is doing to re-teach it to Americans. We speak with Dr. John Mahlmann, executive director of the association, which recently kicked off a National Anthem Project. Also: Violinist and composer Mark O'Connor writes classical pieces that draw on the imagery of the American landscape and folk music.
