« previous episode | next episode »

Wednesday, September 21, 2005

The jazz group called The Bad Plus has cultivated a bad-boy image, bringing rock songs by Nirvana, Blonde, and Black Sabbath into the traditional jazz club. Today, members of the group discuss some of their eclectic influences - which range from Samuel Barger to Jelly Roll Morton to Radiohead - and offer a live performance. Also on the show: new wave legend Lene Lovich. She'll share music from her new album, "Shadows and Dust" and talk about the glory days of the '80s new wave.

Lene Lovich

The new waver Lene Lovich makes a (re)appearance.
