« previous episode | next episode »

Monday, November 07, 2005

Today, we look at the two mayoral candidates' views on the arts in New York City. How do they view city funding for the arts, public art projects, arts education, and support for individual artists? Tune in and find out. Also joining us are choreographer Garth Fagan and jazz violinist Billy Bang. This Wednesday, Jazz at Lincoln Center presents the premiere of "Life: Dark/Light," a meditation on war with live music by Bang, and we get a preview. Finally, Montreal's experimental-jazz group Bell Orchestre are attempting to win over traditional pop music fans with their classically based arrangements on the CD "Recording a Tape the Colour of the Light."
