When she was told that no one had ever made a living as a solo percussionist, Evelyn Glennie ignored those warnings and proved them wrong. She then proceeded to become highly successful as a percussionist, commissioning over 100 works for percussion and performing with ensembles around the world. Today, she visits the WNYC studio to discuss her life, music, how she works and what she is doing next. Also, New York Times music critic Alan Kozinn returns to our salon to talk about the connections and dis-connections of music and war.
