Bill Leonard talks to Col. Lawrence Wilkerson about the progress of the New York State Civil Defense Commission: every community in the state has a community defense organization. We have a long way to go before we have a reasonable hope of meeting and beating an attacker. National existence is in constant danger. There is no such thing as complete preparedness. Preparations for weapons other than bombs, including biological attacks and sabotage.
In the second segment, Leonard talks with Commissioner Wallander about the City's progress. The organization is ready to mobilize at any moment, but preparations are not complete. Status of the recent drill.
