Mental Health

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Steve Post does everything he can to subvert your mental health in this the penultimate NO SHOW of the present surge. He is joined in his labors by the talented and lovely Emily Levine, who surprises him with a proposal to rehabilitate the Sabbath. The Broken News continues its reportage on incompetent criminals while much of the rest of the show focuses on the criminal incompetence of our financial institutions. Finally, Steve inducts Piedmont Blues guitarist and singer John Cephas into the Musical Necropolis. All in all, not as bad a show as you might think.

Teachers

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Steve Post lets his antisocial impulses run wild as he contemplates a career change to one of crime. Overt, active crime as distinguished from the low-level dishonesty inherent in being a radio host. After you hear the story of his academic experiences, you will wonder why he didn’t go bad in his teens. Only two things deterred him: fear of authority and the lousy hours. He is joined by Mr. Shunlee Grange, a prominent anti-environmentalist, who turns blue at the mention of green or our “so-called environment.” Finally, Steve inducts Orlando “Cachaito” Lopez, the Buena Vista Social Club bassist, into The NO SHOW Musical Necropolis, the third of the original four members to be honored thus.

Closet

Saturday, March 07, 2009

Steve Post comes out of the closet, sees his shadow, and goes back in again, but not before calling for a national moratorium on television appearances by Dick Armey and Tom Delay. In the educational portion of the program, Steve explains the difference between Gross Domestic Product and Gross National Product. Mercifully, he does so in under a minute, although it may be the longest minute in radio history. And he inducts “the father of Latin boogaloo,” Joe Cuba, into The NO SHOW Musical Necropolis. A pretty good show, considering.
