Why Can't Shoes Talk?
Saturday, October 25, 2008
Steve Post’s collection of shoes makes him the Imelda Marcos of public radio. As he says, “If shoes could talk…. Why can’t shoes talk? They have tongues, don’t they?” After tripping himself up, he is joined by naturalist Richard Milner, who gives him a heads-up on the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species, inter alia. Finally, Steve inducts studio drummer, Earl Palmer, into The No Show’s Musical Necropolis. A good time is had by some.

Computer
Saturday, October 18, 2008
Steve’s mood borders on the beatific today as he surveys the wreckage left behind by the stock market crash and observes, “Blessed are the perpetually broke, for they shall never know the pain of loss.” But his mood turns ugly when he considers his wife’s devotion to her computer. Fortunately, Paul Krassner makes an appearance and turns Steve’s attention to Sarah Palin. Did you know that the word Palin comes from the ancient Greek and means “Back again once more?” (As in “palindrome.”) You can look it up.
Crooks & Politics
Saturday, October 11, 2008
Steve and his guest, Emily Levine, touch lightly on the stock market meltdown and the financial system bailout, then land heavily on the political campaigns. Emily appeals to the electorate to stop electing action heroes and begin supporting “inter-action” heroes. As an inaction hero, Steve feels he is part way there. In other business, Steve introduces us to his criminal Cousin Gordon and inducts Erik Darling into The NO SHOW Musical Necropolis.

A Lot Of Bull
Saturday, October 04, 2008
Steve Post is back again with a nine-week “limited engagement” of The NO SHOW. This week Steve takes aim at American politics and shoots himself in the foot, which, characteristically, is in his mouth. Steve also has a great deal to say about bulls, atomic energy, and deep sleep. None of this is of any great significance, but it will give pleasure to those of you who take pleasure in this kind of thing.
