Talk with the Animals

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Steve Post treats us to a few well-chosen words on the subject of his pet cockatiel – a subject of avid interest to dozens of his listeners. Recovering rapidly from his efforts, Steve talks with natural historian, Richard Milner, who expands upon the subject of animal communication, especially birds. The Broken News features stories about birds; and the Musical Necropolis inducts Jimmy McGriff, concluding with his piece, “The Bird.” In short, this program is for the birds, of the birds, and in small part, by the birds. The music will cause your heart to take wing. (A photo of Steve and his bird grace The NO SHOW entry at www.WNYC.org. It’s not a pretty sight!)

Politics As Usual

Saturday, June 21, 2008

Today Steve is visited by The NO SHOW’s embedded political correspondent, Emily Levine, and hears her thoughts on the Presidential follies. Steve shares his experiences of discomfort and personal loss, inducts Utah Phillips into The NS Musical Necropolis, and reviews items of Crime & Punishment (or the lack thereof) in The Broken News. The music will induce profound malaise. This is the second in a limited edition of five all new NO SHOWs. Collect the full set.

Summer of Luuuuv

Saturday, June 14, 2008

This summer marks the fortieth anniversary of “The Summer of Love,” and Steve Post remembers it as if it were only forty years ago. Join Steve and his special guest, Paul Krassner, as they tell tall tales of traversing the terrain of psychedelia. Listen as Steve says, “I did? I don’t remember that!” The music will seem vaguely familiar, as if first heard in a dream or some other altered state of consciousness.
