Ageing

Sunday, January 28, 2007

We present, for your entertainment and edification, Steve's ruminations on the vagaries of ageing, demonstrating some of those vagaries even as he speaks. Listen to Steve propose sweeping social changes to accommodate his personal whims. Hear him as he says, "Pops?!" Music selections underscore the program's theme in an unabashedly obvious manner. This program was first broadcast on November 2, 2002. Perhaps we should have left bad enough alone.

Dark Secrets

Sunday, January 21, 2007

This week Steve Post reveals yet more of his darkest secrets (what might his lightest secrets be?) as he discusses "The Sweet Science versus A Back Rub" or "How a Pacifist Learns to Love Violence". Musical selections will reflect this ominous turn of mind while studiously avoiding overt references to any recent elections, winners, losers, or whatever. Same difference.
This program is recycled from November 9, 2002, and would make really good compost.

Rocky R.I.P.

Sunday, January 14, 2007

In this edition of The No Show, code-named "Rocky R.I.P.," Steve Post reminisces about his childhood summer camp experience which, of course, was one of shame, ostracism, and personal loss. Musical selections feature skat, except when they don't.
This program was first broadcast on October 26, 2002. It is not as bad as you may remember it.

Fat Power

Sunday, January 07, 2007

Steve Post remembers his days of greatness as measured by girth and recounts his success as convener of the Central Park "Fat-In," with its revolutionary call for Fat Power. Hear Steve at Sheep's' Meadow as he bleats, "TWO-HUNDRED AND FORTY-FOUR POUNDS. OH, NO!!!" Musical selections are pretty much as you would expect.
This program first aired in September of 2002. Unlike cheese and fine wine, it has not improved with age. PLAYLIST THEME: "How Long Blues" - Jimmy Yancey, piano "First Girl I Loved" - The Incredible String Band "A Case of You" - Joni Mitchell "Milk Cow Blues" - Sleepy John Estes "Ax Sweet Mama" - Ry Cooder "Fine Fat Daddy" - Dinah Washington "Long Lean Lanky Mama" - Ethel Waters "The Weight" - The Band
