This is a 1990 show from the vaults with composer La Monte Young and visual artist Marian Zazeela that is sure to warp the space-time continuum. The "godfather of minimalism," Young, together with Zazeela, explain the year-long light and sound environment they had up and running back at the time. From October 30, 1989, the infamous "cooking show" with composer/raconteur Robert Moran. Recorded while cooking an Indian dinner in John Schaefer's kitchen, for reasons still not entirely clear. Along the way, we hear an "acoustic" version of Cage's 0:00 - for amplification of chopping vegetables and blender. And don't miss the teary conversation as onions are chopped. View the the recipes.

Thank you so much for this gem of a recording of a very hard to hear artist.
Just a small footnote to the sentence: "The "godfather of minimalism," Young, together with Zazeela, explain the year-long light and sound environment they had up and running back at the time". They in fact still have it running - at the third floor of 275 Church Street in downtown Manhattan.
