    This New Sounds program features selections from George Winston’s benefit CD “Remembrance”, a CD of solo piano, harmonic solos, and Hawaiian-style slack key guitar written and recorded within 6 days of September 11, 2001. There’s also a live in-studio performance by Rinde Eckert, a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, gifted writer and creator of the stage work “And God Created Great Whales." Plus, highlights from another work for the stage, Raphael Mostel’s “The Adventures of Babar”, round out the show.

In Robert Moran's Kitchen

New Sounds

From October 30, 1989, the infamous "cooking show" with composer/raconteur Robert Moran. Recorded while cooking an Indian dinner in John Schaefer's kitchen, for reasons still not entirely clear. Along the way, we hear an "acoustic" version of Cage's 0:00 - for amplification of chopping vegetables and blender. And don't miss the teary conversation as onions are chopped. View the the recipes.
