For this New Sounds program, it's a step beyond your pocket calculator -we'll hear all sorts of arrangements of Kraftwerk songs. There'll be an acoustic version of "The Mirror Stage" featuring lutenist Josef van Wissem and guitarist Gary Lucas.
Plus, music from Joby Burgess/Powerplant along with a live performance of "Das Model" by Theo Bleckmann. From string quartet to accordions, it's an hour of inventive takes on the pioneering band's German pop.

Treuting has made music with and for So Percussion, the Swedish folk-instrument wielding QQQ, the electronica duo Matmos, the Zappa-jazzy band Kneebody, and the guitarist/composer Steve Mackey, to name a few. On this New Sounds, listen to music featuring Jason Treuting as soloist, collaborator, and composer. There’s also music from multi-instrumentalist/composer Nick Zammuto, co-founder of the sonically and visually innovative duo the Books.

Loving the Kraftwerk Kovers show! But John, I have to take you to task on one small detail. You mentioned they were a trio. They've been a quartet for most of their career. Back in the early 70s they were a duet, but evolved into a stable four man lineup from Autobahn on. I think.
Anyway, it's awesome. Wish I could've gotten ducats for their appearances at Moma. Und wenn ich diese Taste drück, Spielt er ein kleines Musikstück
