It's that time of the month again for the new releases show on New Sounds. John Schaefer carefully separates the wheat from the chaff for this show. He'll sort through the stacks, bins, and boatloads of new CDs which have come across his famous disordered desk over the past month to present some of the finest new releases. He'll skim off the cream. He'll pick the lentils from the ashes. You get it.

Dear John (yes, this is a Dear John letter),
I love New Sounds, BUT, when I play podcasts at work (a Park Slope wine shop), my co-workers often complain--they say that the music is putting them to sleep.
Exceptions-- African music, Balkan music, you get the idea, something with a pulse.
PLEASE--more get ‘em up and boogy sounds.
Non-public radio is a no go--commercials make me C-R-A-Z-Y!!!
Some up to the minute non-commercial Hip-Hop once a week? The kind that never gets on the urban stations.
Just for the record, I’m old and white.

Hi John
Well my third album "The Roar Of The Tiger" will be released globally on 30th September 2010. I have just produced a 10 minute Promo video for it and it is available for viewing on YouTube. I'm keen in getting some air-play.
