French pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard’s "African Rhythms" project features music of the pygmies of Central Africa, paired with the music of Hungarian composer Gyorgy Ligeti and Steve Reich. We'll hear Aimard playing some of these, music by Gyorgy Ligeti, and music by Steve Reich. Plus, we'll hear some of David Lang's work "So-called Laws of Nature" and music from the Aka Pygmies as well.

I live in Berkeley.
That's pretty damn impressive, Morey. But I can't help wondering what the people you passed on the street made of it...
I perked up when you said that Airmard played "Clapping Music" by himself -- until you said that it was overdubbed. I play clapping music by myself in real time -- slapping my belly. It took me many weeks and I took advantage of my Saturday morning walk to my synagogue -- 45 minutes in each direction, painstakingly working on one measure at a time.
