You just asked if Aki was related to Ayuo Takahashi. He is her nephew and the son of Yuji Takahashi (another well-known japanese pianist as I'm sure you know) and Utaco Akemoto.
Ayuo studied guitar in NYC with William Hellerman in the 70s.
