« previous episode | next episode »

Thursday, September 13, 2007

On this New Sounds program, there's music from 5-string slinging Caryn Lin, who loops her electric violin into haunting and ethereal works. Also, listen to a work for sax and electronics, as tackled and tangoed by Brian Sacawa. Plus, hear music by Frances White - her work "Center Bridge" - and any other combination of soloist and electronics that might crop up.

There was a beautiful opera piece, part three? --it was at the end of the show last night, Wednesday before midnight..it was described as becoming famous from a 1980s movie from Poland, I believe. I was unable to get the name down.. help would be appreciated!

Hi, I was listening to Terry Gross on Fresh Air on 9/11/07 at WNYC FM and a jazzy, big band song was played at around 3:30. Can you tell me who the recording artist was on this?
It was great!
Thanks, wendy
