For this New Sounds, wander though European cities with the acoustic chamber jazz quartet Gato Libre from their latest effort, "Nomad." This band of Japanese musicians plays acoustic folk, using trumpet, guitar, bass, and accordion, doing tunes that mix up flamenco with Old World waltz, music that stirs up reggae with a touch of blues or a reel from a Scottish pub. Also, listen to country-swing folk jazz from the Tin Hat Trio (now operating as a quintet, and just Tin Hat) from their "Helium" release.
