WNYC FM 93.9 has two programs by cellists tonight: New Sounds (live at 11pm, archived on web) has pice by Colleen; Erik Friedlander, cellist-composer, is highlighted on Evening Music (possibly at 9pm).
I may go to the Locrian program, with George Crumb's vocal cycle tonight, Sat. Aug. 25 at 8pm at the Riverside (10th floor chapel). The Arabian Nights program at Damrosch Park Kristjan Jarvi's Absolute Ensemble) may be too hot; soprano Elizabeth Farnum, who's singing Crumb's spirituals, is a fine artist.
