Host John Schaefer welcomes Philadelphia composer Robert Moran, who introduces his apocalyptic work Voices of the Last Seal, based on text by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The work was written in 2001 specifically for Munich's Frauenkirche, and employs chorus, cellos, percussion and keyboard. Moran was a founder of the San Francisco New Music Ensemble and has been composer-in-residence at Northwestern University. He has composed in a wide range of genres from large-scale, multi-ensemble works to operas. A not-to-be-missed work.
