A few years ago, WNYC Radio commissioned and premiered Richard Einhorn’s “Carnival of Miracles”. Written for and performed by the early music vocal quartet Anonymous 4, this work sets texts from two millennia in six languages, including ancient Coptic. On this edition of New Sounds, hear a performance of this new work, featuring Anonymous 4 and two cellists, recorded live at Corpus Christi Church. Plus, composer/pianist John Hodian and singer/songwriter, Bet Williams, otherwise known as the Epiphany Project, perform music sung in the ancient language of Aramaic. Rounding out the show is Miranda Sex Garden.
