As the City of London Festival celebrated its 40th season this year, its scope was truly global, with live performances heard in some of London's glorious historical buildings. This edition of New Sounds features highlights of that event, including Mtiebi, the 10-member Georgian folk choir; the Khakassian group Sabjilar ("the messengers"), which specializes in traditional Siberian epics, and the Orlando Consort, offering some exquisite pieces from the Middle Ages.
