WNYC announcers present live coverage of General Dwight D. Eisenhower's reception in New York City following the declaration of defeat of German forces. Announcers describe all aspects of the day: the wait for the General's plane, the parade bringing Dwight D. Eisenhower down 5th Avenue in front of New York Public Library and his reception at City Hall.
Mayor La Guardia and General Eisenhower both speak at a Giants - Braves baseball game at the Polo Grounds.
