Opens with remarks by Dr. Carl Whitaker. Welcomes the crowd, makes some psychology jokes. He welcomes the evenings guest speaker, Dr. Joseph Campbell of Sarah Lawrence College, to the podium. He discusses Freud, Jung, and Indian culture. He discusses the id and super ego. He goes on to compare cultures and talk about notions in Indian culture that correspond to the id: karma, arta and dharma. Long lecture follows. Some audience responses follow.
