In tribute to world trade, Mayor Impelliteri designated the entire week in celebration of the achievements of friendship, understanding, and service, gained through interchange of the commodities by which nations live (New York World Trade Week). As part of the 300th anniversary of the city.
National Anthem sung by Anita Escondarian.
Speeches touch on economic methods of combating international enemies (freer trade: key to peace and prosperity).
Includes performances by an unidentified band and a play featuring "Father Knickerbocker" and dramatizations of the history of New York, including the reaction Peter Stuyvesant would have to a modern New York City.
"Mr. District Attorney," Jay Josten, talks about civil pride.
