November 11, 1948 - 30th Anniversary of signing of the Armistice. Lighting of the Eternal light in Madison Square.
Judge Maurice Simmons introduces the acting mayor, Vincent R. Impellitteri. States that Armistice Day, VE Day and VJ Day are symbols of hope of the futility of war.

Moment of silence to honor departed.
