This episode is from the WNYC archives. It may contain language which is no longer politically or socially appropriate.

New York City's Golden Jubilee

Speeches and performances in honor of Richmond, Brooklyn, Army, and Youth Days at Idlewild Airport (the combination of days can be blamed on a rain storm the weekend before, which is mentioned in the recording). References, but does not include, an air show, including the shuttling off of a child to Europe by helicopter.

Margie Fellengrass, of the Metropolitan Opera, sings the National Anthem.
