The men recite an oath to be true to the cause of the Sons of Liberty. One man (Dr. Walter?) tells Revere in confidence that they have heard plans that the British will move over the night. He explains the means by which they will alert each other if this does happen. Later, news comes that the British are moving, and Revere leaves home in a hurry to alert the others. Revere is stopped by British soldiers, who ask why he is out so late. He runs away and to warn Sam Adams and John Hancock, who flee with the documents of state.
