I've read his work and seen the videos. Mr. Esquith is a wonderful, amazing teacher and human being. He has so much that is valuable to say.
How about corporal punishments? That worked wonders to quiet us down when I was in school.
5 in the morning? Children need more sleep than that! Let's not go too far w/this. Everything else sounds fine, but Mr. Esquith should check w/sleep experts before he makes this sound like a good thing.
Lack of sleep is seemingly the very least of problems for students educated in America. With the current bombardment of apathetic teachers, a system that highly regards mediocrity, and diverted social surroundings.......it's astounding children are able to sleep at all.
