Increasing temperatures on the planet might mean catastrophe for some species -- including humans -- but it might present new opportunities for others.     If I remember right, Darwin was aware of rapid change in moth populations during the industrial revolution (which brought layers of soot on everything, favoring darker moths). Of course, Darwin didn't know about DNA.
