David Hare talks about "Berlin/Wall," his two contrasting solo monologues. "Berlin" is a meditation about Germany’s restored capital—both what it represents in European history, and the peculiar part it has played in his own life—20 years after the wall fell. In his second monologue, "Wall," Hare offers a history of the Israeli/Palestine security fence, an exploration of the philosophy behind it, and a personal account of those who live on either side.     There was a touch of derision in the Times article about President Obama's response to the growing threat of international terrorism on the seas. Not exactly derision of the president. But of the entire predicament. "The world's most powerful navy vs. a lifeboat." The fact is that the navy and the lifeboat are also metaphors for the overall struggle of great powers against terror. You do remember that word, don't you?

    It is actually good that this easily replicated act came early in Obama's term, lest he and his administration remain infatuated by the proposition that terrorists can be civilized by talk. There are no formulas for disarming the land equivalents of the pirates, those who explode themselves in the midst of innocent crowds in Iraq and Pakistan and other unfortunate countries. Israel used to be one of those countries. But it built a barrier hemming in the would-be bombers behind an unattractive barrier. David Hare has written a screed in the New York Review of Books against what he misleadingly calls "the wall." And his argument is in defense of the aesthetics of Palestinian life against the safety of Jewish lives. Sorry Palestinian terrorists. You'll be stopped at the fence, which is most of the barrier - despite the anti-Israel proporganda.

    Israel should gradually move The Wall EAST to the Jordan river, and everyone east of it over to the other side of the Jordan river. Then there will be peace.

    population transfer - as for example removing Jews from Gaza is world's has ZEROto do with "death camps" and your failed attempt to smear me by falsely accusing me of writing about death camps warrants your being banned from commenting here.

    it's along the lines of asking you hjs why are you still beating your wife?
